Frequently asked questions about our new online appointment system

How do I book an appointment?

If you have access to the internet on a phone or computer, go onto our website and click ‘Submit a new request’ and then ‘New condition’. You will be asked some information about your problem and how you would like us to deal with it. This information will help us respond to you in the most appropriate way.

Who reviews our appointment requests?

One of our senior doctors will review all requests and allocate them to the appropriate member of our team. This could be a doctor, nurse, clinical pharmacist, first contact physio or other relevant specialist at our practice.

What if I don’t have access to the internet or cannot fill out the form?

If you cannot use the internet or fill out the form for any reason, please call us on 01293 514340 – we will enter your details into our website for you. This may take longer than our previous system, so please be patient and only call if you cannot use our website.

Why are you changing this?

We know how stressful it can be to queue on the phone from 8am and sometimes find that appointments are full, or go onto our website to submit a form and the form is closed. By putting all requests into one system, we can review them and help our patients in an appropriate way and ensure that all our patients are able to access the right service, seeing the right member of our team at the right time. The new system also allows us to introduce the option to pre-book an appointment.

All this will allow us to increase our appointment capacity and therefore keep the appointment request forms open longer.

How will this work for me?

All appointment requests will be reviewed by a doctor on the same day.

Our clinician may be able to help you without booking an appointment, or they may be able to help you on the phone or via video. If you need to be seen face-to-face, they will let you know the time and who you will see, taking your preferences into account.

If you have further questions, please ask a member of the reception team.
